AUDRÉ | Voicemail

Toronto based rapper, AUDRÉ, released her single "Voicemail" late last month [February 25]. A mean bass hit and haunting keys start off the track but AUDRÉ comes on in etherial fashion switching between filtered and unfiltered voices leading to her voice being front and center. She steps to the mic and comes for her disloyal partner. She seems to have stepped into savage mode at this point; coming for revenge as she has to "pull up and embarrass you".  The hook is what really drew my attention to this track. The echoing, telephonic backing vocals puts you in a place of listening to this menacing 'voicemail' of sorts. The rattling hi hats also reflect this energy AUDRÉ is bringing to the track. The beat change at the end of the track is also enjoyable. It puts you in a completely different space than the beat before it. It really leaves the listener wanting more. It's the kind of beat change that would lead to a godly transition in a project or album. We'll have to wait and see if this happens. AUDRÉ only has one track currently available for our streaming pleasure. You can find it on Apple Music. You can also stream it on Soundcloud below:
